The Africa Law Tech Association ALTA is an association formed by the Lawyers Hub with the aim of engaging Individual members, institutions, law firms, tech firms, development partners, other relevant organizations across the continent on law and technology spheres.
The Africa Law Tech Association ALTA is an association conceptualized by the Lawyers Hub with the aim of engaging members in form of institutions, law firms, tech firms, development partners, other relevant organizations and individuals across the continent working on the confluence law and technology spheres.
The association launched during the inaugural Africa Law Tech Festival 2020, the first event of its kind on the African continent, to promote access to justice and efficiency within the legal sector and to improve tech policy in legacy and emerging technologies. The association is a continental platform and network for conversations around tech policy, access to justice and law reform in the digital age.

The Lawyers Hub is a Legal-Tech organization incorporated within the Republic of Kenya serving the global south. It exists to provide innovative and technology-driven solutions to policy, legal practice and access to justice with a particular focus on technology-driven enterprises and policy alternatives. The African legal landscape is a decade behind in tech years, and the Lawyers hub is keen to bridge this gap by convening the Africa Law Tech Association as well as the annual Africa Law Tech Festival that includes the Law Tech Academy and conference which acts as a catalyst to creative approaches to justice and building the capacity of lawyers and techies to engage on innovative policy-making within the African landscape.
In the year 2020 alone, the Lawyers Hub has convened policy makers, academia and legal-tech organizations from 20+ countries within the African Continent, created rapid tech solutions under the Global Legal Hackathon and developed key policy briefs for the African Continent on Artificial Intelligence, Data Privacy & digital Identity, Tech and Migration, and Taxing the Digital Economy. The Lawyers Hub intends to propagate most of these activities through the Africa Law Tech Association.
